I love the verses where the wise old men remind the people of Micah’s prophecy and how God showed mercy when the people of Judah turned from their sins. It is good to remind ourselves and others about what God has done in our lives when we repent and worship Him.
Jeremiah believed and declared that in a land governed by the LORD, exploitation of the poor, widowed, orphans and aliens leads to harsh consequences. So, as Jesus declared and established his kingdom, the Kingdom of God, he displays deference to the disadvantaged, and expected his followers to do the same.
Jeremiah had to be a very calm person. To walk in there, say what he was supposed to (knowing they wouldn’t like it) and then talk them out of killing him. Pretty impressive.
